Does anyone want a free piano? We're moving and don't want to take it. You haul, or we can work something out.
Does anyone have any advice regarding getting rid of it? It's a full upright, light wood. One key doesn't work.

I'm looking for a single bedroom apartment begninning August 2008 (early bird gets the worm).
I'd like to live someplace with a little character, and don't care whether its on or off campus. There are some houses in downtown Lafayette that I think are divided into apartments that seem neat, but I don't see them on boilerapartments.com or anything like that.
My price range is 550 or under.
Does anyone know where to look for apartments that are a little different?

Auditions for The Glass Menagerie
Grand Effect Productions will hold open auditions for Tennessee William's THE GLASS MENAGERIE on Monday, September 17, 2007, from 6:30 to 9:00pm at the Wells Cultural Center, 638 North Street, Lafayette, IN. There are four roles available - two men and two women. Those wishing to audition should prepare a short monologue (under two minutes). Cold readings will also be done from the actual script. Production dates are set for October 25 - 28, 2007.
The story of the play: Amanda Wingfield is a faded, tragic remnant of Southern gentility who lives in poverty in a dingy St. Louis apartment with her son, Tom, and her daughter, Laura. Amanda strives to give meaning and direction to her life and the lives of her children, though her methods are ineffective and irritating. Tom is driven nearly to distraction by his mother's nagging and seeks escape in alcohol and the unrealistic world of the movies. Laura also lives in her own illusions. She is crippled, and this defect, intensified by her mother's anxiety to see her married, has driven her more and more into herself. The crux of the action comes when Tom invites a young man of his acquaintance to take dinner with the family. Jim, the caller, is a nice ordinary fellow who is at once pounced upon by Amanda as a possible husband for Laura. In spite of her crude and obvious efforts to entrap the young man, he and Laura manage to get along very nicely, and momentarily Laura is lifted out of herself into a new world. But this crashes when, toward the end, Jim explains that he is already engaged. The world of illusion that Amanda and Laura have striven to create in order to make life bearable collapses about them. Tom, too, at the end of his tether, at last leaves home.
Everyone is welcome to audition regardless of age, gender, race, etc. For further information contact Paul Allen at (765) 449-0325.
We are in need of men especially for this show, so if you know of any who would be interested, please tell them!

My current daycare provider put in her two week notice today and won't be able to watch my nearly 2 year old daughter anymore, so I'm in quite a bind to find good, affordable daycare in a few short weeks. Can anyone please recommend someone who is reasonably priced, who actually does things with the children instead of shoving them in front of a tv, and who actually cares for the well being of a child? I'm in tears and desperate for help.

Grand Effect Productions
Come join the wacky folks from Mineola, a town "somewhere in the middle of nowhere in the South" - a place where the beehive hairdo is still the rage and Saturday nights are reserved for the tractor pull. This romantic "white trash" comedy set at the Faith County fairgrounds comes complete with an arts and crafts competition, a hairstylin' booth, a dramatic poetry reading and a wedding. Faith County is sure to make you laugh so hard you'll cry.

I graduated in December and am moving to Pennsylvania later this month. I'm looking for a subletter! It's one giant bedroom in a five bedroom house in Lafayette, less than 15 minute drive to campus. The rent is only $186/month plus utilities. I'm really not exaggerating, the room is probably 25' by 12'. We use it as two bedrooms, it is so big. But you can have it all to yourself for only $186! The lease ends May 22.
There are two bathrooms, two living rooms, a kitchen with two fridges, and off-street parking. There is also a pretty big yard and a giant porch! There are four male room mates. This room is available, doesn't matter if you are male or female (I'm female, and living with all guys was fine)!
This is a great deal! If you or someone you know is interested, let me know!

Anyone out there know of any good full service car wash and/or detailing places in the Lafayette or West Lafayette area? I know of Mike's Express on SR-26, but they don't do interiors at all.
I moved up here from Atlanta and the place I used to go to would vacuum out the interior and clean the interior glass real quick, run the car through an automated wash, shine the rims and tires, then hand wipe the car for around $19. They also offered a bevy of waxing, clearcoat, and interior conditioning services as well as full detailing. This is what I'd like to find up here.
If you can suggest someplace (espescially if it has reasonable prices, as I'd like to get a wash like above at least once a month, with a wax at least twice a year and a full detail job at least once a year), I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks! Current Mood: curious
